Rent Increase

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.64.84.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except for Eco Lifestyle, Realm of Magic, My First Pet, Laundry Day, Luxury Party, Perfect Patio, Vintage Glamour, and Fitness Stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Move into apartment with set rent. 2. Wait for bills to arrive.
What happens when the bug occurs? Bills are broken down with lot taxes, water, electricity, etc. Like in a regular residential lot. This makes the rent higher than the rent stated when moving in.
What do you expect to see? Rent should be the same as stated when moving in.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I would expect water and power to be included in rent, or it to be stated otherwise.

@ScienceSpencer I think you only have to pay 778. The 1,560 is if you don't pay it on time then you will owe that much next time I believe.
  • @ScienceSpencer I think when I made my sims pay their rent, it did actually only take the rent part and ignore the power and water. I was worried that it wasn’t included any more, but it seems like it still is.
  • When I'm back in the game I might have to cheat some simmoleons into the family to test it out. It wasn't letting me pay the bills because the family has insufficient funds.

@ScienceSpencer If you are in San Myshuno you can collect a few posters to help pay your bills. They are each worth 65 - 200 simoleons and they will spawn several times per day. My Sims who live in the Spice Market neighborhood often make almost 1000 simoleons a day by just doing this. :D

  • Update: When my household was able to pay their bills, the 778 value was paid, rather than 600 (the "advertised" rent) I guess my question now is, is this a bug or are apartments now supposed to have the utilities on top of rent?
