Restaurant staff not staying hired

My staff is disappearing. I was staffing my restaurant, and I successfully hired all the employees. After completing the hiring, I worked through the entire menu to ensure everything was set up. I even decided to customize the uniforms for my staff. After saving my progress, I entered the Create-a-Sim (CAS) mode to customize one of the uniforms. When I exited CAS, I could see that all my staff were there, but to my dismay, none of them appeared to be officially hired anymore. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I restarted the game using with a recovered save file. This time, all my staff members were indeed hired , but of course all the uniform customizations and other modifications I had previously made were now gone. I customized the uniforms once more and saved my game again. Then, I went into the Manage Worlds section but when I returned to Sulani, where I found all my staff present once more. I faced the frustrating realization that none of them were hired again. I tried to rehire them, but to my disappointment, I was unable to do so. In a last-ditch effort to rectify the situation, I launched a recovered save file once more and opened Build Mode. After briefly toggling between modes, I closed the game, hoping that this would help. Unfortunately, when I returned, I found that none of my staff members were hired again, leaving me extremely frustrated. I can’t play my restaurant without staff. There was a point when I couldn’t even see that I owned a restaurant until I entered build mode.
