romance options not working

hi
every time i try to do a romance action with any sims they wont do said action? it cancels all actions in the queue and bugs them out (they t pose) 
this is causing the romantic satisfaction to constantly go down since I cant do any actions to help fix
I've tried repairing my game and I don't have any mods so I would appreciate some help
