Sad, grey plants on Innisgreen
I'm having an issue with one of the pre-built lots in Innisgreen. The "Greenwood Hamlet Residence" is a grey, moldy lot, that I remodeled to be a happier place...
But my plants don't match. Everything is dead and grey. See this picture! At this point, I had already tried a bunch of different codes to make vegetation more lush, and they worked (I think) but the colors remain sad.
I have ZERO mods or custom content, but I own all packs released by EA.
How do I fix this in live mode?? Help, please!
Here is the same lot, same state. I went back to the selection screen and entered the lot straight to build mode. I thought I was having a graphical issue with this lot until I saw this.
Thank you!!
Erissel I agree with PipMenace. It looks like a seasonal issue. But I don't follow you on the moldy grey look. The lot in my game hasn't been played but I took a look at it in both build and live modes, and it doesn't look like that to me, other than the underlying ground texture that players can't change other than by painting over it with another texture. There is no grey tint over the whole lot in either build or live modes. So, if there is in your game, it shouldn't be there, and you can try is a game repair. Tbh, I doubt that does anything since it doesn't touch the user folder or save files, but you never know what a repair will fix or not. With an issue with an overlay sticking, It's worth a try anyway. Don't forget to delete the localthumbcache file after the repair.
On the plants, since you've said that they look the same in summer, then something is not playing well with what was there when you remodeled. So, a couple of things you can try along with the repair. I strongly suggest you try these things on a copy of your save, just in case. First, in live mode, grab any collectibles, photos, books you bought, etc. and place them in a sim's inventory or the household inventory before doing anything else. Save the lot to your Library. While still in build mode, replace the lot with the one you just saved. Sometimes that will clear up issues like the one you have. You could also try saving the lot in another save and see if that clears the problem. If that works, save the working copy to your Library and do the replacement again in the original save. If you're still having problems, you can try saving the lot to another lot in another world that is the same size.
Then there are a few things you can try that are more labor intensive. It just depends on how much effort you want into fixing the problem. At that point, if you're still having issues, I am willing to take a look at the lot to see if it acts the same for me. All you need to do is upload the lot to the Gallery and replay here with the lot name and your userid if different than the one you use here (Erissel).
Hope this helps.
