Saves not loading after Sept 18 update

I've noticed a huge difference in The Sims 4 loading times since the September 18 update. Previously, loading screens took around 30-40 seconds on my pc, but now they drag on indefinitely. CAS works fine, but switching to Live Mode gets stuck in an endless loop, making it impossible to load saves.

I repaired the game, but nothing happens. I don't use any mods or CC. Anyone else with the same problem? Any suggestions of what to do? Thank you in advance.

  • @crinrict I've been having the exact same issue! For me it is a specific household that doesn't load. I can get to the map but once I try to go into live mode (or even build mode) it just has an infinite loading screen.

I tested entering Build mode, and it works fine. I have no problem with the map, either. Then I tested another save and it surprisingly loaded Live mode just fine!

I went back to the save and tested another family, and it loaded, so I went back to the other family I was having issues with and the game told me to restart the game, and it gave me a game code: "109:f967dc7f:3179d1dd".

I think is this specific household that doesn't allow me to go into Live mode for some reason? (which is a bummer, since it's one of my main families)

First time ever this happened to me, I don't even play my game in high resolution, even after I upgraded my RAM memory, and my PC supports Directx11...

  • Been having that kind of trouble too and I play this game on Linux via steam (lutris). I had to get a recovered save but just gaves me a random earlier save.

@cyndi_hill_86 recovered saves are always earlier backups.

Have you checked if you use off the grid as suggested above ?

    Crin,

I am having the same issue and yes, I'm using the 'off the grid' trait.

    Thanks for your help.
