Thanks for the responses! Your comment about the gallery reminded me I had it saved there before I started noticing the bug, so I tried placing the house in another lot and didn't have any problems. Interestingly, if I bulldozed the original build and placed the copy from the gallery back down in the same spot, I still had the same issue. Seems to be something up with that lot (I built on top of Umbrage Manor in Willow Creek). Anyway, hopefully whatever the problem was has been sorted just by moving lots. Thanks so much for you help!

It's called Bridgeport! My username is the same on here (clearly a few of us found the same house online and built it hahaha)

Yup, both my sims. Did try resetting them both but it didn't help, and they have no problems on the new lot so I'm completely bamboozled!
