Sim stuck in "work normally" mode; but at home and unemployed

My sim for several in-game days has been stuck in "work normally" when I hover over her tab in the bottom left. I've made several attempts to fix the issue, but nothing has worked.

I have:

  • Removed and disabled mods in my game (Was only using UI Cheats and MC Command Center prior)
  • Sold my Sim's small business so they are no longer "employed"
  • Travelled from home lot , travelled back
  • Taken my Sim's family to a vacation lot
  • Reset Sim
  • Restarted game

I saw a post online from about 7 years ago saying there should be a "Leave Work Early" option when I click on my Sim, this interaction is not available when I click on her.

Because she's been stuck in work mode, she has the burned out moodlet, which cannot decrease enough to go away. It is almost constantly increasing unless she is doing an activity that decreases it, like sleeping.

My game has all DLC except a few kits, I've only been playing this specific save for about 2 days.

I tried to see if this bug has been reported before, but could not find a recent occurrence of this issue.

I play through EA App on a Mac.

    Have you tried moving her out and back in ?

    Was the small business job the only job she ever had or did she also have a regular job ?

    I just moved the household to an empty lot, and I was finally able to choose "Go Home" when clicking on my Sim, but this interaction changed nothing. Tried resetting and selecting again but still nothing changes.

    She had a normal rabbithole career prior to owning the small business.

    Additionally, I tried removing her from the household and adding her back, as well as repairing my game through the EA app; "Work Normally" is still present.

    Sounds like she has a stuck flag on here.

    Could you try uploading her to the gallery and put in a new save to see if she's still at work ?

    If that's the case, please post here name here so I can check her.

    If that's not the case, please upload your save somewhere and DM me the link.

    This has happened to Zoe Patel in my forever save and it's really frustrating because I can't do anything with her when she's always burnt out. She lost her job through a work event where she made the choice to get fired and that's when it got stuck on.

    I also had this issue and found a fix that worked for me. I clicked on the affected sim and then on "more choices." I clicked on an option for "go to work on off hours" and sent the sim to work that way. When they finished, there was a symbol to "go home" on the avatar. I clicked that and sent the sim home and it was fixed. Almost all packs etc., no mods.
