I always loved controlling a horse in the sims 3 and I would love it when it would gallop everywhere as they always looked so elegant and magestic! I loved the relationship you as a player could have with the pets as you control them too!
@SimmeringPassion , I have not seen Mr. Bubbs so I will have to look for him!
I'm glad I was able to take you down memory lane! 😄 The Sims 2 is my favorite Sims game and the pet carpool just makes me giggle! 😂 And the things I loved most about The Sims 3 were the ability to choose your colors and patterns with CASt (Create A STyle) and the ability to play as your pets! I really enjoyed that! I would love to have controllable pets and pet jobs again, or the missions you described! 🥳
Yes, some dogs and cats are best friends! The 2 cats and one dog I told you about ... well the cats love to swat the dog's tail when it wags, and the dog loves to wag his tail and loves attention, and I told my friend that I think he sometimes wags it just to entertain the cats and get attention from them! 🤣 She agreed!

I loved all the sims 2 games too!! I love the fact that you said one thing and it’s taken me down this whole awakening of all the sims 2 games I’ve played and I’m very grateful for you reminding me! 😆😁
The carpool would make me laugh too the way they jumped in too! The sims 3 Create a style is something defo missing from the sims 4 and something i thought was a no brainer to have in there but I’m guessing that they are probably saving it for the sims 5 so that it feels refreshed as a feature!
The dog is probably doing it for the attention! I mean who wouldn’t, it’s two cute cats!- PugLove8884 years agoHero (Retired)
@SimmeringPassion , Yes it gets a bit confusing since back then the console versions of the Sims, Sims 2, and Sims 3 were always very different from PC/Mac versions! Sometimes it is hard to remember them all. Then you add things like The Sims Bustin' Out, Sims Medieval, The Urbz, Sims Castaway, and My Sims , and it gets even more confusing! 😅 But I'm glad you had fun on this walk down Memory Lane! 💗
With the Pet Carpool, I always imagined the human carpool driver being asked what they do for a living, and then answer that they drive pets to and from their jobs! 😂 Then the person asks "Do the owners come along?" and the driver says "No, just the pets!". You have to wonder what that driver would do if the pet went to the bathroom, threw up, or started tearing up the car upholstery! 🤔😱😅
The reason why they didn't include Create a Style in the Sims 4, from what I remember them saying years ago, was because in The Sims 3 it caused some people's computers to lag horribly. This made sense to me, since I was one of the people it happened to! 😥 This lag would happen any time you went into CAS or Build & Buy Mode. It would take around 15 or so minutes to load! That wouldn't be so bad, except when I would not like the results in LIve Mode, or change my mind, or remember something I forgot to change... and then I had to wait another 15 min for me to load CAS or B & B Mode again! 😭 Granted, I believe this mostly happened to people who saved a lot of swatches, which I did! I downloaded a bunch of CC patterns and then recolored them in every color combo that was pleasing to me and then saved all the ones I liked! So mine probably wouldn't have lagged so much upon loading B & B Mode or CAS if I hadn't done that. It worked fine at first when I didn't have a lot of swatches saved. But had I known that would happen, I would have been more careful with what I saved and didn't save! I was not the only person this happened to, but the other people probably saved a great amount of swatches or else had a weaker computer. (This is a totally separate issue from gameplay lag in Live Mode, but that is why The Sims 4 was not made to be an open world game).
So, when I found out that TS4 would not have the CASt wheel, I was both thrilled and devastated! Thrilled because it wouldn't take me forever to load CAS and B&B Mode, but devastated that my favorite feature from TS3 was gone. And since I thought TS3 didn't have as much fun gameplay as TS2, I really relied on the CASt wheel for my fun in the game.
So, I don't think they took Create a Style out so that it could feel refreshed for TS5 (they wouldn't know at that point if there was even going to be a TS5 or not). They might have even tried to include it in TS4, but even if they didn't, I think they had those people with lesser computers in mind, and they probably couldn't get it to work in time for it to not lag so much on those computers. Hopefully they can get it to work well on lesser computer if they decide to include it in TS5 (if there is going to be a TS5), and I would also hope they warn people not to save every pattern in every color that they come across!
So I understand why CASt wasn't in TS4, but I just would have liked it better if they let us recolor the frames of things like beds separate from the fabric, like they did in TS2! That, and I wish there was a collection of wood swatches that came with every item so we could match all the woods to one another. They have tried to correct this recently, so it is better! 👍😃
LOL! While the cats who played with the dog's tail are certainly cute, the dog just did it because he loves the attention and loves all other creatures in his pack, and visitors that his humans accepted. He is a very friendly and affectionate dog! 🥰 The cats are very cute though! Super soft and fluffy! 💗- 4 years ago@PugLove888 All that you mentioned is my heart! I LOVED the sims bustin' out, sims medieval was completely a new game completely! I loved the gameplay of the churches either using fear or good, the nobles where you could be queen or king, I loved the clothing and gameplay style / options, I loved the bards, assassins and being a doctor was so cool too using the leaches! I loved being a pirate too! Medieval was so cool and I got the limited edition one with the music and everything! (Totally geeking out right now!) the Urbz was a great play on the ps2, gameboy and DS and I LOVED them all! Sims Castaway was a total GAME CHANGER! The way your sims hair grew was how I thought the sims 4 sims hair would grow! I fully loved everything Sims Castaway brought on the ps2 when I played it! With MySims it was completely different in the style and at first I remember not liking it many moons ago.... but then it grew on me eventually and then I finally learnt to embrace the change and enjoyed the gameplay (I've made it seem more intense than it was, I played it and I loved playing it once i got past the style change haha, this is probably going to be one loooong paragraph sorry)
Hahha I fully imagined the pets in the back suddenly going nuts in the back and rips up everything then leaves all preppy and happy with a bouncy step going off to work while the driver looks in horror at their limo! I remember when I had 2 pets that was going to work at the same time and the way I remember them both waking up at the same time and then walking to the car and both jumping in was hilarious to me! If I remember rightly the door would just open on it's own I would always think is that automatic? Is that a sims arm that's real quick!
I can imagine a cat having too much catnip and going absolutely mental in the back!
Ah I never knew that it was because of the lag (If I did know then i completely forgot it being many years ago X_X) TBF I get the lag your saying because my sims game would lag and crash out all the time in both live and B&B I had a decent computer for the time and it would play decently but it would have them moments of unruly energy!
But at the time we had to wait for it to load anyway for the time that is hahaha sounding right old right about now! haha
I believe that there will be TS5 and I believe that they had ideas for it maybe when TS4 was being in the works of being released, the swatches were something so cool though but it's unfortunate that it had some lagging..... Such a devastating loss to our community but it won't be forgotten. With games development I believe they already have a road map of the way the games going to be going based on sales, features, demand, cost of the development, when the release date might be. I feel like they need all the years to develop it so they're ahead of themselves. but I could be completely wrong haha
Oh I just love cats and dogs, I grew up around them my whole life and wouldn't change it for the world! Both cats and dogs (and all pets really, no discrimination here) are generally great for your health, you have a crappy day at work and come home to your dog or cat or whatever pet you have at home to greet you and you just feel your mood change instantly and then it's like you never had a bad day at all! I love animals TOO much! Love LOVE LOOOOOVE THEEEEEEM! :D hahah <3
