Sims 4 Computer Specs *
I initially played the Sims 4 on my Mac, with all the EPs and some game packs (at the time) but this was two years ago, so there were fewer packs out there.
I ended up not playing The Sims anymore because my Mac was just not compatible for gaming at all. I played the game in low settings but it was laggy. I got frustrated so I completely stopped.
I promised myself I would save up to get a proper gaming PC to play the Sims. Now I can afford a decent Gaming PC.
I want to play Sims 4 in ultra settings, all the EPs, some mods, and CC.
I am currently looking for a prebuilt PC because I live in Canada where the parts will take forever to ship and I just do not have the patience to wait months to receive everything.
I am looking to buy the Asus RIG Strix GL10CS
- intel core i5 9400F
-1 TB HDD
-256GB SSD
-8GB RAM
-GTX 1650
It costs $1500 CAD
If anyone would like to recommend any other PCs, it would be well appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
@monghco That's not a bad system at all, and it should run all Sims 4 content together on ultra graphics settings. You can do a lot better for $1,500 CAD though. For example, I'm seeing what looks like exactly the same model for $1,300:
But even that's more money than you need to spend for the hardware. This HP has the same components, except for 12 GB memory instead of 8 (the difference in the processor models is negligible), and is $100 cheaper:
For the same price as the HP, this MSI has the same processor. graphics card, and memory as the Asus, and a 500 GB SSD:

If you're willing to buy from Newegg, this desktop has a stronger processor and a significantly faster graphics card (an Nvidia 1660 ti) than the ones above, plus 16 GB memory and a 500 GB SSD. It's $1,300, duty and fees included, plus $50 shipping. To be clear, this hardware is overkill for Sims 4, but maybe you'll want to play other games, in the future if not now.

If you'd prefer to buy from a local company, this one is $1,400 and has a 1660 ti and 16 GB RAM as well:
Or, if you'd rather save money, this computer would also run Sims 4 on ultra. Its graphics card is actually a bit faster than the 1650 for gaming, although not necessarily for other graphics-intensive tasks.

There are plenty of other options if you want to get picky. Just let me know if these aren't quite what you're looking for, and I'll do another search. The other approach you could take would be to order a custom build, in which case you'd get to pick the components and have it delivered in a few weeks. It would be more expensive, although the hardware is typically higher quality when you go this route. Let me know if you're interested.
And of course if you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
