Stuck on loading screen since update, save corruption

Since the update, game gets stuck on the loading screen basically 1 out 3 times. Almost never had this issue before.

Never used mods or CC. Playing on PC.

Also, my legacy save file got corrupted after the update and kept crashing upon launch with the error "Failed to launch the game - an error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later", which never happened in 5 years.

I started a new save file, which now keeps getting stuck on loading screens, as above.

  • Thank you so much for your help.

    After my long-time save corrupted and I started a new save, I moved my active family into a house downloaded from the gallery, which turned out to have been made with the tool mod.

    I deleted all the music players that came with the build and I have not had the issue since then.

    I ended up also bulldozing the whole build, which made the game crash. Otherwise, not to jinx it, but I haven't had such issues since I deleted the "cursed" objects.

  • Hi ErikaNyunyi

    Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

    • Delete the ones you have
    • Trigger the error again
    • Check if new ones are created
    • If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

    Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

    Hi crinrict

    Thank you

    Adding to my post that now the game also crashes in live mode, in addition to getting completely stuck on every 2nd-4th loading screen.

    Followed the steps, deleted the LastException files.

    Next time, the game crashed after about 2 mins.

    Next time, it got stuck on the 4th loading screen and I had to force quit. Next time, on the 2nd one. And so on.

    No new LastException files were created though.

    But I saved the text from the latest one before deleting it, so here it is:

    LastException from 23 May:

    <?xml version="1.0" ?><root>

    </root>

    I can send LastCrash as well if needed, it's just way too long to post.

  • That seems an error with a stereo but since it's older, it might not be connected.

    Would you be willing to share your save with me ?

    If so, upload it somewhere like dropbox, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.
