Not a dumb question at all. They have options for both. I have a MacBook pro and it doesn't have a drive for discs. All you need to do is download Origin and buy it and download the game from there. Happy simming!

If you're wondering about peoples recommendations and/or experiences. I find that buying it digitally is better. I bought the Sims 4 digitally, but bought the get to work and get together via disc when they first launched... I believe I know where they are, well... several possible locations. I find with discs that if you're someone who misplaces things, likes to keep their place tidy and have things out of site, have no place for things such as discs to go properly etc. then you're bound to lose the physical copies.
May as well buy digitally since you got nothing to lose. I'm not even sure if there's a benefit to buying the physical copy? I can't remember so someone may need to correct me on this, but for some reason my brain is telling me that if you have the physical copy you can use it on multiple accounts. But I also think that whatever that thought is, it can't be correct because I'm pretty sure you have to use a code to activate the disc with the account you want to use it on?
I suppose the real outcome here is if you're someone who likes to have the physical copy. It's the same in relation to the PS5. Some people buy the console that allows discs because they like physical copies of the game itself, and the console that doesn't have a disc cartridge for those that don't really care for physical copies and digitally purchase everything.
@shortaf1 You're welcome! Yes, I just had a look and you do have to use a code to activate it on one singular account. Therefore making it pointless if you know you're going to lose the physical game copy at some point or another.
