Sims 4 For Rent Maintenance Calls

Not so much a question as a solution that I've not seen documented elsewhere.

Maintenance Calls are very buggy if not done in a certain way. Sometimes they are difficult to complete as others have pointed out. To avoid this:

1. Save game before leaving for site.

2. Use car icon next to affected unit in business panel (not world map) to travel to unit even if currently on property.

3. Knock on relevant door before doing anything even if you are able to access rubbish or garden without going inside the apartment. You're not seen as being there until you've knocked on door and anything you do doesn't register against scenario requirements.

4. Do the required tasks WITHOUT knocking on any other doors. Otherwise the issue goes back to square one.

5. If something is affected in another unit, you can usually see it and REPLACE it without entering property. If you try to repair it, you have to knock on their door to access it, putting you back to square one. For this reason, I recommend only buying cheap fridges and ovens as these seem the most likely to be affected by a flow on effect in other apartments and these seem to happen regardless of the reliability of the appliance.

6. If it's a clean up job, you might have to drag rubbish piles to different locations on block if another Sim on site starts trying to help. Especially if they're a Green Fiend.

7. If you don't see the scenario counter in top left of screen, you're at wrong apartment.
