Try the following
- Close the game
- Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
- Repair the game
- Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.
- Start a new save game
- Check if you still have the error
- Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
Hi I have tried this 2 times. With each steps being respected and created a 2 new saves and deleting localthumbcache while going in and out of game when it crashes.
Whilst having no mods and new save : placing lots from the gallery
- 1 lot out of 3 is either freezing the game or crashing it
- and entering like the calientes for exemple doesn't crash my game but if I go in cas and I replace them with a different version of them from the gallery (2 different versions for each game repair I did) it crashes when I try to enter live mode and play.
- Also when I manage to play with a household, if I like visit another lot (premade in the new saves or placed from gallery, happened in both instances) 1 time out of 5 the game crashes.
I'm running with directx9.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@SimzSlayerYt That sounds like a lot. There are lot in the gallery that crash the game but this seems excessive,

Crin asked me to answer you:
The DxDiag service crashed during creating the DxDiag, that is a sign of problems in the graphic system or Windows.- Hit Windows key and X.
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)", whichever option is offered.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command Prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
- Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.
