Sims 4 repeatedly crashing

I try to open the game, either from the EA app or straight from the game itself, my game crashes for no reason. I've repaired the game three times, removed all the mods, deleted the localcache, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice now, and it's still not working. It works for a couple of seconds then just closes without warning. Is anyone able to explain what's going on and how to help?

  • yungmone03  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hello, my game wont launch at all. I removed my mods and cc and its still the same. I tried to remove the folder like you said but it tells me that i cant move it because the folder is in a running game something like that but i dont have the sims open? (I'm the person that had a problem with launching their game after they bought get together)

  • Mine's crashing too. Mods folder is not in the folder. Updated. Now after "removing Sims 4 Folder" and creating a new one, it gives an error after crashing that it's Ran out of memory.... what. :(
