sims 4 roofing glitch

I’ve come across a building issue recently where roofing either clips through walls or takes away the wall of a room. 

I built a house and when I try to shorten the length by putting a roof flush against the wall, it doesn't delete the ceiling/floors/walls, but the room has outside lighting.

I've done everything to try and work around this such as rebuilding the room after the roof is placed, deleting the floors and ceilings then rebuilding them. I’ve settled for lengthening the roof but even then, it clips through the ceiling.

Ideally, I’d like the roof to be longer, but it only clips more and it’s incredibly annoying.
