Sims 4 won't load past main menu

Every time I go to play the sims, I open it through the EA App, and it loads up fine, until I get to the main menu and press resume on my sims household. It will sit there on the loading screen for ages and does nothing. I have tried uninstalling it, repairing it, going offline, and I used the sims 4 mod manager to ged rid of mods and cc. When I used the mod manager I removed a good amount of cc and It pretty much worked, I got into my household but I removed cc that I was actually using so I had to download more. I loaded the game back up after that and it did the same thing. It shouldn't be a storage issue as I have like 20+ free GB of storage.
