  • Sims do age up on their own if it's their birthday and you didn't age them manually.

Do they age up for you when it's not their time ? Are they all aging at the same time ?

Hi, I’ve been playing a scenario and recently updated, maybe a week ago. Today in game, my child sim completed their aspiration and all of a sudden the whole household was being summoned to age up. It was a hour or two passed midnight. The child sim has a twin. Him and his sister don’t age up for another 18 days. None of them had birthdays that day. The parents weren’t suppose to age up either and they were all on a community lot except for the mom who was at work but it didn’t look like she aged up when she got off. Plus, I didn’t get a notification that she did. So, I think she’s fine but I had to reset 3 of my other sims to cancel the age up interaction in the queue. I just saved and left my game after checking my settings and turning aging on and off to hopefully reset it. I’m a bit nervous about it now because it caught me off guard and now I feel like I have to watch to see if the game will try to force age them again.I tried checking to see if anyone else had this issue but this is the closest thread I could find. This glitch is a first for me.

Hi, I’m not sure if it’s similar to the original poster as they mentioned having Businesses and Hobbies. I don’t have that pack and so far none of my sims have died. I do use MCCC but I didn’t get any notifications about other sims dying or aging up from that mod and neighborhood stories is off. However, I did leave the save pretty quickly and didn’t wait to the next day to see if any npc’s were aged. I’ve been playing 3 other households in rotation and didn't get age up notifications for them… Well, actually one of the played households did age up. Only the kids. This was before I updated though but they were a sims family I downloaded off the gallery and their ages were already further along. I had aged the kids back down a few weeks back. I can check their previous ages from before I updated, if you’d like but it’d have to be later when I get off work. I do have previous saves of this save file. I’ve been playing my particular save for a few months and never had an issue with sims aging at random. Is there a work around for this or am I forced to turn aging off? That would be unfortunate because I’m playing Scenario sims so they need to age up to complete the story but I rather do it at the actual pace and not have it get catapulted so soon. If I have to turn aging off, so be it but for how long? I need to know for sure that the Sims Team is actively working on this, among the many other issues, as a next update type of progress because this is a bit immersion breaking and it would make any save unplayable.

    Packs don't really matter.

Did you change age settings with MCCC ?

I've had this issue on one of my saves (when Lovestruck came out) and it would only happen if I loaded a certain household member who was on another lot first and then switch back home. It's a really odd issue and seems to have weird triggers.

No, I didn’t mess with any mccc age settings. I usually just use it to turn off stuff. Like, disallowing certain traits to generate and removing annoyances like certain bar nights and auto mischief. I aged down the sims by going into CAS. I know some things can get wonky with MCCC like, adjusting how the time works in game but I don’t mess with that kind of thing. I do have Lovestruck but you said, packs don’t matter. I do think they matter sometimes. Like, if a glitch is due to a pack or a pack related update. I haven’t been able to go into game yet. I might get a chance tomorrow since I’m off from work to see if the issue persists smh or if redoing the settings helped.

Hi, just came back to confirm that I checked my previous saves for these sims. They were all within the same age range as each other and weren’t due to age for another 18-20 days for the kids and about 72-76 days for the adults with the exception of the one family I downloaded off the gallery who did age up before them because they were just older and due to age up sooner than them which they did. As I stated before, I did age them back down but that family who aged up, they did so before the update. My other sims was prompted by the game to age up prematurely after I had updated. Has there been any other mention of this happening to others?

Of course they matter for some things, just don't think they matter for this as it's been going on for so long on and off so I still think it's the same as the thread I linked. Maybe check out that thread to see what others have said.
