@akiraawolf, thanks for replying! 😇 This could be your problem. Mods and CC require a lot of upkeep so they don't cause problems.😞 Every time the game gets an update/patch, there is a chance that any existing Mods/CC will now be out of date. The people who create Mods/CC then need to update their creations, and you need to make sure that all your CC/Mods are the updated versions, replace the old versions with the updated versions, and not use any version that didn't get an update. 🤨
To see if the problem is caused by your Mods or CC you will need to do the following:
1) Move your Mods folder to your desktop
2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the Game Folder
3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in to Origin and go to your Library. Then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the option to "Repair Game". Wait until Origin fixes all of your packs that you own (if any) and not just the Base Game.
4) Now turn on your game. Your game will generate a new Mods folder that will be empty. Check to see if your problem is fixed or not.
If your problem is not fixed by doing all of this, then your problem isn't a Mods/CC problem. If your game is fixed by doing all of the steps above, then at least one of your CC items or one of your Mods was causing the problem. Finding which Mod or CC that is the culprit can be done, but if you have a lot of Mods or CC it can be a bit more difficult to find the culprit.
You can first try to add your Mods one by one back to your game and check each time to see if your game still works, Then you can go through your CC and do the same. This way you can spot exactly which Mod or CC item is causing the problem. If you have a lot of Mods and CC then you can do the 50/50 Method. Here is a link explaining that method. CC and Mods are fantastic if you are willing to put in the work to keep them up-to-date and working properly.🥳 If not then it would be best to play a "vanilla" game. :eahigh_file: I used to use CC/Mods in TS2 and TS3, but in TS3 they started messing with my game 😞 and I had to permanently remove them. I haven't used them since!
Please update us on your progress! Best of Luck and Happy Simming! 🥳
