Sims refusing to clean or make food via cook menu

Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.105.332.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I am unsure
What happens when the bug occurs? I am trying to get my sims to clean or make food. They refuse to clean, drop plates or drop garbage piles. The reset their animation. This happens almost every time, not with counter cleaning though. They also refuse to make food if I use the cook... menu. If it's "serve..." or "make..." they can. Otherwise they do not finish the task
What do you expect to see? To complete the cleaning or cooking task.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I do use script mods - specificially UI cheats mod, MCCC, and the KawaiiStacie education and preschool mods. I comeplete removed them from my game and it did nothing to solve the issue. There is nothing in the way. I redid the house in case it was the layout. Nothing. Refusing the clean the plumbing, take out the trash, pick up, pick up plates. The food thing isn't as bad, but I can't make cakes for birthdays.

@xoashleypink Is this with a new save, or your previous one? If this is a new save, copy one of your old saves to the saves folder inside the new Sims 4 folder. Use Copy and Paste rather than dragging and dropping so you have an extra copy should you need it. Don't add anything else to the new Sims 4 folder, only the save, and let us know whether the problems are still present.

@xoashleypink did you delete the localthumbcache file ? Test multiple households/Saves ?

Hey, sorry for the late reply I wanted to test multiple saves/houses and life got in the way. I did and those and it's the same. They start the cleaning interaction then stop and reset. I also figured out it is mainly cakes they won't make as other foods from the cook menu work. But they get as far as the mixing bowl and stop, which means no birthday cakes lol

Try the following

Close the game

Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old

Repair the game

Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry

Start a new save game

Check if you still have the error

Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

Hello!

Sorry for the late reply. But I just did this and now it’s working. They’re making cakes, cleaning dishes and using the trash bins.

Now what can I do?

This was with the new one. I did this with one of my saves and it worked, the bug is no longer there!

If you've already tried removing mods like UI Cheats, MCCC, and KawaiiStacie, and even redesigned your house without success, you might want to check for game updates or conflicts. Sometimes mods can conflict with patches, causing the following issues.
