It does sound like they still have some traits that cause issues.
Do you remember the creator/name of the Sim in the gallery ? If not, please reupload. Put something in the description that it's for testing.

Just try uploading it to the gallery (it's a bit wonky atm) or if you still have the original creator, I can download it from them.
