Social Compatibility: Sim Characteristics - Conflicts?

I have a question about Social Compatibility when selecting Sim Characteristics & Conversation Topics under Likes & Dislikes in CAS.

I know when selecting personality traits for Sims, there are conflicts. For example, you can't have a Family-Oriented Sim also have the Hates Children trait. But what about social compatibility? While I haven't seen anything that expressly prevents the player from picking different items in the category, based on their descriptions, some see like they might conflict, or that you could potentially create a self-loathing Sim.

For example, I want my Sim to be compatible with both Cerebral Sims & Idealist Sims, but in the pop-up descriptions it says that Idealist Sims conflict with the Genius Trait (Cerebral), whereas Cerebral Sims would conflict with Creative (Idealist). But you can have a Sim with both the Genius & Creative Traits. I have both Creative & Genius Sims in my family, and I'd like everyone to get along as well as possible, and though I can click likes both Cerebral & Idealist in CAS, I'm wondering, will it cause some sort of an issue in-game?

Also, on that note, if I have a Gloomy Sim, and they pic a Sim Characteristic that can make them incompatible with Gloomy Sims, will that make them have some sort of self-esteem problem?
