Hi I have the same issue - which I only just realised. I had duplicate worlds - which I didn't realise was a glitch - I thought it was normal . I just thought - there were more worlds to build on. Anyway, since the update - I now have one of each world. But, now Gibbi Point is Blank and Brindleton Bay too. I tried reparing as well, but to no avail. My workaround - and why I am staying calm. Is for Gibbi Point - though the world is blank - they can still travel to Festivals. Once there - the world is normal and they can travel anywhere in Gibbi Point. (It sadly reverts back to blank once the sim is home - but at least that works). My plan for Brindleton Bay - is to pretend I am planning a one day getaway - then I just pick a place - set all the itinerary to free time and then once there - if it works - then have the sim visit the place I really want them to visit in Brindleton Bay. (I have not planned the actual getaway, but when I got my sim to use the phone to plan the getaway - all the available places in Brindleton Bay appeared - so my fingers are crossed on that one).
I don't know if this can work for you - but, that may be an option - so your sims can visit places that you can't see on the map. As far as I can tell - once you get there - the world is normal temporarily.
What a nightmare. My fingers are crossed for us all.
