Spell caster Talent points not appearing

Hi there just got a new pack recently the Magic Realm. Everytime I see that my sim gets a talent point it does not show up in the spellcaster perks or on the needs board. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have about 5-6 talent points that have not shown up.

I could resolve the issue by having my spellcaster drink a resetting of advantages potion and then my missing points showed up.
