Stairs can't sit next to wall

I don't play with any sort of mods. I have never had this issue before. 

I have been trying to build I'm the small clear lot on Mt Komorebi. I am trying to put put stairs right next to the wall for a cleaner look. I'm trying to use the modern floating stairway but it doesn't work with any of the other stairs. I have nothing obstructing the upstairs. Is this a new bug?

    Have you tried using the move object cheat?  what version are you using? PC, XBox, PS, or Mac depending on the version you will have to look up ho to get into the testing cheats then set it to move objects. Also somethings if the foundation is on uneven terrain it can mess with whether or not you can set the stairs depending on if your play sims 2 3 or 4.

    @sarahmae55 If you place the stairs one square away from the wall and then use the sizing tool to expand it to 2 wide it will allow contact with a wall. But , remember that is how you got it there because if you want to move it even one square you have to start over. I was able to then reduce it one square using the other side of the sizing tool - lol I hope this gets fixed S🤭n.
