Stairs Mess Up Gameplay

Build Mode IS Not Working

Okay, so I am a Mac user. I play on an IMac and we recently had the update where we moved from origin to the EA App.

So I moved to the EA App, started the game and went to decorate my houses just to find that when I go to place the stairs it just disables the entire build mode? I can’t buy, sell, or even place anything in the lot after it.

So I posted on here before and someone told me to delete the entire electronic arts folder and start again. I did. STILL DOES THE SAME THING!

I removed all of my mods and tried again, DID NOT WORK.

I found out that if I just regularly decorate then it’s fine, but as soon as I go to delete a wall or place stairs that’s when everything falls apart and I don’t know what to do.

It’s NOT THE MODS, because I’ve removed all of them.

Also it’s important to add after the game breaks I can go into live mode, but when I try to go to manage worlds or exit the game it just gets stuck loading.

Is anyone else experiencing any issues since moving to the EA App?

Also, just tried to do it again. It places the stairs, game breaks, and when I tried to place another stair it says OP Generation failed???

Okay, I lied it did not work. So like it’ll let me change a couple of things and then I’ll delete something like a wall or stairs and then it does that again where it just doesn’t let me change anything after that. So it’s not just the stairs, it’s the gameplay. I ran twisted mexi better exceptions to see if I could find any broken mods, I also made sure all of my script mods and mods that changed gameplay were updated. I really don’t know what’s going on. It only does this in build mode. I have no issues with CAS, besides when my game crashed after saving my family and trying to put them on a lot. I hate to think I have to the half and half because the way that this work is that I can play for like 30 mins or so and everything is good then next thing you know it’s not so I can’t immediately assess whether or not if it’s a mod or not.

Try the following

• Close the game
• Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
• Repair the game
• Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
• Start a new save game
• Check if you still have the error
• Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
