Bienchen has a mod for the talking with plants. I use her mod since forever. It doesn’t forbid the action but make it that you sims need at last have a gardening skill of level 9 or have skill level 5 + traits: insane, super green, thumb or loner. (I am don’t a fan of mods which toggle it actions off. I just want that it makes sense for sims which have such a behaviour)

Im having the same problem. A single sim is essentially addicted to talking with the same plant about unbeleafable friendships. It already maxed out her gardening skill. I tried with the autonomy scan and bienchens mod but neither stops this behavior.
Because your sim has gardening 10 bienchens mod will not work for you.
You can try simularity Don’t do that Mods -> Don’t Auto talk to plants maybe this will work for you. Her mods are not reported broken. I don’t play at the moment this game(Its just to broken for my playstyle), so I am not sure if it works.
