@Sid1701d9 The lots used as crime scenes are supposed to clean up afterwards but sometimes that doesn't happen. If the lot is normally the lot of a played sim, I've just gone to build mode and deleted the items when it's happened. I think there is a bug report on it but I can't seem to find it atm. It's been going on for a long time. The only time I ever notice it is after I've been playing the detective career.

@CGrant56It wasn't a bug when a apartment lot is choosen for the crime scene it will add some of the crime scence elements outside of the apartment itself so the other apartments that played sim live in will see the crime scence stuff. The game says when you leave the crime scene that it will be cleaned up, but it is only cleaned up after you solve the case. I think its the current case my detective sims is currently working on.
Edit: I forgot to add the detective sim is not in played household of currently played sims.

@Sid1701d9Ok. I haven't had an apartment as a crime scene ever so I guess it works a little different on those. If it's in the world then that's a different animal. So as I understand it, you have a sim in the detective career with an open case that was open when you shifted to another household to play. And that household happens to live in the same apartment or same building and you can still see the crime scene stuff. Have I got that right?
So, I don't mean to be Captain Obvious here, but it seems that the solution to get it cleaned up is to go back to the detective and finish the case and then go on to the next household. I have never stopped playing a household when there was a case open. I always finished the case before I switched. So this one is new to me.
But if that doesn't clean it up then you have stuff stuck in the world for like forever because you can't delete it in build mode. So the only thing I know of that might work is the T.O.O.L mod.
I agree with you that it should get cleaned up automatically when you travel out of the crime scene back to the Police Station so something isn't going the way it's supposed to. I've had it happen but was able to clean it up manually. Just never had anything left in the world. Everything was on a lot.
- Sid1701d96 years agoSeasoned Ace@CGrant56 Its not really the apartment that a played sim is in though apartments are locked to the detective career as they can not place npc sims in a played household, because crime scence remove required objects for played sims until complete. The crime scene is active until case is solved or the criminal dies, so any household with the detective job can work on same case.
