Suggestions for making poor quality food?

For some reason, in a house of 6 sims, no one can get uncomfortable enough to make some poor-quality food to sell on the new Home Chef Hustle table. They all already have cooking skills as this is a family I've been playing with for a while. Yes, the irony.

So, I'm looking for suggestions for items that give off uncomfortable auras, foods that make sims uncomfortable, or other tips others use for this part of the aspiration. Or just ideas of how to make food poor quality when you have good cooking/baking/gourmet cooking skills. I would like not to cheat it. I'm already cheating the stuff my sim can't do for vegan reasons. I would like, at least, for this part to be legit.

In the meantime, I'm going to leave them to their own autonomy for 24 sim-hours and see who's in the worst mood by the end of it.

  • @gertie47 Do you own Eco Lifestyle? If yes you can use the large external trashcan to search for meals, when I did it the meal I found was poor quality.

@2001100 Just tried the club idea - I can't get the food they are making into my sim's inventory; it's saying because they don't own it. I guess I'm getting a vampire victim sim after all....😈😂

@gertie47 Oh the club idea sounds like a great idea!!! I hadn't thought of that, I wish you luck, that sounds like something that could truly get the results you're looking for without forcing your sims to step out of character and face the consequences. You've given me some ideas too though I don't have the Home Chef Hustle pack yet. Happy Simming! will be curious to find out if the club plan works and how it goes down = D

@2001100 I just posted before I saw your post. Yes, I'm going to try get my teen vampire sims a 'victim' and then have the victim cook. My other idea is to make a cooking club with random sims and lock them in a basement kitchen with nothing that will catch fire. Maybe I'll try the club first, so my vampire sims don't have to feel guilty (just yet 😂)

@PipMenace 🤣That sounds similar to what has gone down in my game! If anything, there is enormous comedy value in trying to do this!! I had my vampire sim teen get so low on needs he attacked his caregiver for a drink. Then I realised he had a no skill in baking, so got him to then make sugar cookies, which were finally poor quality - but impossible to make 100 simoleons from. I then had him make waffles which came out as 'excellent' 🙃. Got the 'very uncomfortable' caregiver to make food and it came out excellent still (he is maxed on cooking). Considering getting the 2 teen vampire sims a temporary 'victim' sim to live in a dungeon, for them to drink from, and make the victim do the cooking after being drunk from - trouble is they are both guilty drinkers.

  • @gertie47 Maybe you can have a sim join their household briefly to make the food for them, someone with low or no cooking skill. If they have friends or family in the neighborhood, you could temporarily add them to the household without cheating, and then remove them from the household when it's over, and imagine that they invited a friend over to participate or to help teach how to cook. Or imagine that they are truly such great cooks that they couldn't remember how to make a meal low quality, and needed help with that. If they don't have friends or family with low/no cooking skill to temporarily add to the household, it's not cheating but might feel a little cheaty but you could make a new sim in CAS, saying that it's a friend who's moved to town or some relative visiting, add them to the household, have them cook it, then decide if you want to keep them in the household, remove them and have them move into a different house, or remove them and have them as a kind of townie for your sims to see around now and then as their relative. Hope if this doesn't help that you figure something out. Good luck! = )
  • @gertie47 I think you just need to cheat the skill back down to 0. I tried for a full sim day to get my sim to make poor quality food - needs down to nothing, no bed, no toilet, no shower, trash all over the floor, using a dirty Yum Cooker… the lowest he ever made was normal, and that was rare. One time the oven even caught fire while he was cooking! He just barely put the fire out before passing out (in the puddle from when he last lost bladder control), then woke up to find the meal hadn’t been lost in the fire and was excellent quality. 🤣
