Teen promised rings problem

So I had my teen sim become a couple with this other teen sim and they became boyfriend and girlfriend and I had them exchange promise rings. However, after doing that, in the romance section, the options "ask if single" and "pick-up line" showed up. Actually I don't know if "pick-up line" was already there before giving promise rings but it still seems weird it's still there. Did giving them promise rings end their boyfriend-girlfriend relationship somehow? Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Is there a way for them to take back their promise rings so they're back to simply being boyfriend and girlfriend?
