Lotta' kinds of LOVE on this planet.
For this one, there's a special kinda' love for the 'people portion' of a grand thing I have been envisioning and surprisingly; quite badly wanting and (sometimes) quite badly requesting on the official 'post it' places for SIMthis, SIMthat and the SIMothers for over a decade.
From the moment I opened a ye' olde Maxis Jewel Case and saw that The SIMS were to be a thing I assumed it would be yet another way to experience our SIMCity creations 'from the inside'. In a manner similar to that of SIMCopter and Streets of SIMCity.
It was not to be. As some seemingly never understood how powerful The SIMS in a SIMCITY could be.
As the years went on from 1, to ONLINE, to 2, 3 and 4. The 'people portion' grew to an amazing state. Always re-kindling more and more posts requests to make the big picture happen.
The SIMS are now ready and seemingly able to take on the responsibility of full city development. Where the special one you create have more of a direct influence across a city, region or world. To influence SOCIETIES, drive city economics, business, tourism, culture, industry, food production, freight and shipping, education, high tech growth, etc. etc.
I speak to those in the far past who; at the time, never seemingly understood how important they could be.
With so much time behind us now. Do you finally see?
One can have fun if the other SIMtitles make a comeback. And. IMO/ They would do well on nostalgia alone. But you will never achieve GREATNE$$ in them without The SIMS supercharging them from the inside. They ARE the GREATNESS.
Tis the season for WISHING.
