Hey so with the new update I can flare the stairs but the railing UI is not popping up at all. I can not select the railing on either side or where to place the railings start or stopping. Doesn't matter if it is a new lot or not, or Custom Content or not it wont show up.
As you can see below, can flare the stairs, just UI for the Stair Railings wont show up
Misha_Cron I'm not seeing the issue on my game. I also don't seem do be able to find a rail in my game that is identical to the one you have - and to the small stair edge curve. I see by your screenshot that you do have custom content in your game (the wrench by one thumbnail), though I cannot see if that is the one you're using.
If you have mods &/or custom content in your game, or if you recently did and there could be cached glitches still in the game, it's possible that one or more may be causing the issue even if the stairs/railing you're using currently is not cc. This can be so because if a mod or cc is causing a conflict or glitch in the game it can cause various issues that may not seem related.
I would recommend that you try the following to see if the issue remains: Move your Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving.
I did do that as you suggested and made a brand new save file and it still isn't showing up, took out my mods folder and as stated before still not there or show at all. I tried all the before minus the cache file and it sadly didn't fix anything
Please try the following to test in a new user folder:
Close your game and EA App.
Locate your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4]. Make a backup of this folder and save it in a different, safe location.
Repair your game.
Rename your "The Sims 4" folder to The Sims 4_OLD (or move it to your desktop... Do not delete it - you need it for reference).
Now re-open your game and begin a fresh game save without adding in any of your old files. (No worries... The game will create a brand new replacement 'The Sims 4' folder.)
Now check in the new game save to see if this issue is still occurring.
Save and close the game.
If the issue is not there in this new save you can then begin re-adding some of your old files, testing after each step to see if the issue is still gone. Copy (so you leave the original in your old folder) the following into the new "The Sims 4" in this order from your old folder:
Saves folder (contains your old game saves): While the game is closed, copy your "saves" folder from your old "The Sims 4" folder and paste it into the new "The Sims 4" folder. If prompted say yes to 'overwriting' the "saves" folder in the new "The Sims 4" folder. Now open your game, enter a new game save and see if the issue is still gone. Close the game.
Tray folder (contains your old library): While the game is closed, copy your "Tray" folder from your old "The Sims 4" folder and paste it into the new "The Sims 4" folder. If prompted say yes to 'overwriting' the "Tray" folder in the new "The Sims 4" folder. Now open your game, enter a new game save and see if the issue is still gone. Close the game.
Other files you may want to do the same with if they are important to you are Options.ini, Screenshots, Recorded Videos.
I have this exact same problem. I tried everything. I even took my mods out, cleared the game cache, and started it up as a vanilla base game, tried a new save, repaired the game, like spent half a Saturday trying to diagnose it and get it to work, and it still doesn't' show up for me. At this point I assume its an update rollout bug.
