The old save file makes the game perform poorly compared to the new one
I have two save files the first is old 150 sims and performs poorly while the second is newer created at the beginning of 2025 150 sims and performs perfectly

I would assume the old one has more history (relationships, family trees, milestones, earned traits and unlocks, etc), more items, more photos/paint from reference, and likely more hidden households like ghosts and foxes. What size are the files?
Unfortunately after the latest update save files are slow The game engine needs to be changed
