The Sims 4 Get to Work Overhaul

Hello,

Is there any chance that we will get an overhaul of get to work? It has so many bug issues and just needs a little bit of a revamp, just like Spa Day did. It's frustrating that when the hospital delivery machines are other swatches, babies can't be delivered. This pack needs help. I am sure that other simmers such as myself are BEGGING for this pack to be re-done. I love this pack very much but it needs some TLC.

Many thanks,

Sharni

  • @Sharni_Hill   Hi!  Agreed and added a "me too".  I rarely play the doctor and detective careers because they don't work properly.  The scientist career runs a little more smoothly and I've enjoyed that one.  It would be great to also maybe get a few more active careers like these.  I'd love to see some of the existing careers added as active but maybe that's going too far.  lol  Thanks for sharing!

I absolutely agree and it's such a shame because the careers are my favourites. It's been said before so I hope it happens at some point.

The medical career has been one of the most complained about careers in the game I think. It is so stressful, there just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish anything and the other staff members do absolutely nothing except get in the way. I can't tell you how many times my Sim has been blocked in a cubicle because an orderly is in the way and won't move. You also don't see the same medical staff having to admit patients, fix machines, do housecalls (which crash) and pick up trash. It's all done by different staff. I actually first used the feature as I have a terrible medical phobia lol and I can't say I found it in any way cathartic!

The police career can be frustrating and I wish I could edit the police station, as a builder that annoys me. I don't know if it's possible with mods but on console it won't let me edit it at all. I just want to upgrade the whole thing because that's what I love to do.

I do love the science career though and I've refurbished the lab and incorporated robotics, engineering and droids/servos plus the Strangerville mystery and cowplants.

I use retail the most and use the retail lots as second or third homes as well. It's one of my favourite parts of the game. I don't play the active lots though, I return to them with other Sims as customers. It's so handy for my Sims that aren't creators, gardeners or collectors. Selling art, flowers and collectables plus rare items is what they are used for. Everytime I build a new lot, I send my new Sim shopping to buy paintings and collectables for their new home.

But honestly it needs an overhaul and a massive bug fix. I use it so much but have had to learn to work with its flaws over the years.

  • @Sharni_Hill It would be perfect if they added surgical scars, health conditions (like muteness, vitiligo, allergies, etc.), allow us to buy venues and work there, aliens upgrade, gameplay for therapist, dentist, breaking laws and reporting crimes to the police and a workplace lot type. For fixes i'd like to see doctor npcs actually working, better hairs texture/meshes and ability to visit the hospital for treatment. I'd also like an cross-pack gameplay between careers as @simsplayer818 said for the labs.

@thornwill I've wanted a Therapist career added for a while. I've mentioned this before but I'd like to see it tied in with the negative moodlets. Now that burnout is part of my game too I think my Sims need a therapist more than ever lol. They could study the Therapist skill and a higher skill level would allow them to dismiss negative moodlets and to cope with burnout. They could have a therapist call just like the Sadness Hotline and the Chatty Family call when they are low or stressed. They could also have the ability to avoid burnout and sadness moodlets with a post therapy emotion that makes them emotionally bulletproof for a duration 🦸.

@simsplayer818 I absolutely love this idea. You could even have an active (or at least semi-active, work from home option) career where Sims show up really sad or angry and you have to find the right socials to make them happy or at least fine. Maybe have "tell to try painting" or "tell to go jogging" interactions to help clear burnout. Maybe it could help with fears as well, even though I generally play with them off.

@PipMenace What a good idea. Yes I play with Wants and Fears off as well because I can't really help my Sims get over them. I'm the same with burnout, nothing seems to help even though I follow the suggestions.

@gooochyeee Thanks, you've just cleared up a mystery for me. I did wonder why I'd seen edited versions of the station.
I haven't used cheats before as some affect Xbox achievements but I've been thinking about them more and more lately. It's definitely worth bearing in mind.
