Tips for using the gallery....I need some!!

I'm on Xbox one and I've been using the gallery more lately, here is the issue that occurs with me.  When I search for new sims to add to my gallery.  I try everything as far as search parameters are concerned, I choose search by content that I own, I search by newest and then check out the popular stuff.  I choose all and maxis curated.  Basically, I've tried everything as far as your search options are concerned.

Here's the issue I either get sims that have no expansions except maybe the holiday one, or I get sims that have the little green icon at the top left of their picture indicating that they were created using content I don't own.  It's a rarity that I get a sim that has say 3 or 4 expansions listed under there photo that I actually have.  And I have a decent amount of add Ons, to name a few (cats and dogs, get together, city living, cottage living, seasons, Spa Day, Parenthood and about 6 more smaller packs.

What can I do to get more sims that have at least a few expansions on them, is there certain tags that can help?  Why is it either all a bunch of sims that are base game or sims that have like 90 percent of the bonus content.  There is no in between except on rare occasions. Any tips would be appreciated...I made a similar post to this one but I'm pretty sure it was on the sims forum's website I hope I didn't make two on this site.  Ok thats it.

  • @Thehiddenreturns Hi, I don't know if I can answer you, but when I personally create a sim in CAS, I try to use as few packages as possible so that more people can download them. In fact, even if I only used the base game, you can easily download the sim I created to your game.
Especially when creating sims (and not lots), the fact that several packages are included only affects the clothing, makeup and certain aspirations. Which are all things you can safely change in CAS.

@GiardiniDiMarzo Thanks for the insight, I usually upload to the gallery things in the game save I'm playing so the option to limit or change what content is going to show is limited, I would have to go to my sims and edit everything so that it was all base game again. But I get what you are saying.
  • @Thehiddenreturns Hi! As much as i understand, gallery filters are not the best. If you select the packs that you own, it would not exclude the ones not marked. If a household/lot has any of the packs you want on it, it will appear, even if it has one or many that you do not. I dont know why they made it like this.
What i do, if i see a lot of household that i like that uses packs i dont have, is to click the pack icon and check which items were use. Sometimes it's just accesories or clutter, things easiy replaced that wont make a difference over all so i use it all the same
