Trashley ruined my save. State of the game is upsetting.

Reporting in! I've done all I can to try and fix the issue, but it's hopeless. Neighbourhood stories is permanently on no matter what I do. I check the mailbox, and hey presto - someone adopted a cat, or had a baby. There's nothing I can do. It's ruined.
