Twins born as mermaids then aged and mysteriously became vampires?

Okay so I have a household that consists of a mother and father that are both mermaids they had four children together two sets of twins and the father has two alien kids. I aged the first set of twin boys into teenagers and was expecting them to be mermaids as well, instead they were vampires. How did this happen? They had a very brief interaction with a vampire when I first bought the pack but that was some time ago. I'm at a loss, please help.

  • @Rolliepopeye , are you playing on a console or on a PC or Mac?  If you are playing on a PC or Mac, are you using any Mods or Custom Content (CC)? 🤔 Outdated Mods or CC can cause problems in your game.  You can test your game by

Moving  the Mods Folder to your desktop and deleting the  localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. (Bits of corrupted data can remain in your game in this file, even if you remove your Mods.) Then you can start your game and see if the problem persists.

If this does not apply to you, this could be one of 2 other things I can think of:
!) Do you have the Lot Trait enacted on your lot called "On a Dark Ley Line"?  This lot trait makes your Sims more likely to give birth to Vampires.
    2) This could be a bug,

Please update us on your situation! 😇

  • I'm on console(ps4). I looked through my saved files and unfortunately I don't have one when the twins were born to confirm but I'm almost positive that I put the "On a Ley Line" as well as the "On a Dark Ley Line" because I thought it would increase my chances of getting triplets. That must be what happened. lol

Thank you so much for responding so quickly!

    I appreciate your knowledge!

@Rolliepopeye , thanks for updating us!😇 🥳 I'm happy to help!  While it will not fix your current household, at least you can avoid it in the future (and if you ever really want Vampire babies , you also know how to make that more likely, as it will happen with the Dark Ley Line lot trait even if the parents aren't Vampires themselves! ) 😉

As for fixing your current household, if you don't want them to stay Vampires, you should be able to correct it with this cheat: traits.remove_trait trait_OccultVampire

    Happy Simming! 🥳
