"Up For Adoption" won't go away

My sim couple adopted a kitten. The adoption guy came over and my one sim started interacting with the kitten and paying the adoption fee. But then the adoption guy started talking to my other sim, a...

    Try having the household travel to another lot and then back, and see if that helps. If the issue remains, try seeing if you come out of the game and then reload the game, helps the issue.
