Very long loading screen to main menu

Idk why but when I start the game up it takes forever for the game to load to the menu. And it’s not mods because this started happening after the last two updates. All my mods are updated and I recently went through them and deleted broke mods. So that can’t be it. Please help. This game is my life

And if anything is broken, even if it doesn't affect gameplay, it will slow loading down even more.   You'd be surprised just much it does if you do a thorough file by file run through of your CC looking at everything you have individually with Sims4Studio to check the tagging and make sure it actually works and shows up in your game.

But you're right that the game does seem to take more time loading, even a vanilla game.  I've noticed it myself.  Idk why but I suspect that the game is taking more time to load due to efforts by the devs to solve the causes of save corruption that has been hitting players these last couple of years.  More thorough file checking is probably going on or something similar.  And what would you rather have, faster loading or better odds that your save won't corrupt??  But that is just a guess.  Idk for a fact.

So, all that said, you can do something to speed up loading yourselves.  Simply reduce the amount of CC you have.  Go through everything you have individually looking at it and making sure the tags are set properly (or how you want them).  Make sure the item actually shows up in the 3D model and in the game properly.  You need to check every swatch too.  Remove anything you find broken.  And while you're at it, remove all the stuff you have that you don't actually use.  When I cleaned out my CC a few years ago, I found over 100 files that were broken from day 1 and ended up dumping nearly 2/3 of my CC because I hardly ever used it.  I kept just the stuff I used a lot.  As a result, my game ran so much smoother and loaded way faster.  The benefits of doing the cleanout were definitely worth it.

    Hope this helps.

  • I've been having this exact issue since the June 30th update and I know for a fact that its not a mods issue. Even with my mods disabled, my game takes overly long to load into the main menu. After my game loads into the main menu, everything else loads super fast. With mods enabled, my game takes 21-27 minutes to load into the main menu. my game takes under a minute to a minute to load into the main menu before I updated, with mods included. I always double check and make sure my mods are updated. After this update, everything just went to crap and its insufferable. I have never experienced long loading screens until that June 30th update. I expected this issue to be fixed on the July 21st update but it didn't get fixed and wasn't even mentioned in the patch notes.
