Weird harrassing behaviour by content creators - why is this allowed?
I may be kicking a hornet's nest here, but just had a very toxic experience with a popular content creator and I wanted to ask is this typical & why does the community allow it?
The sitch: I recently did a comparison challenge with a building lot (one in which you see if you can replicate the build under certain conditions, (in my case it was making it a true $20K build + base game). It was fun, people enjoyed the concept & it was properly credited. (if anything it was over credited). At no point did I try to pass off another's work as my own or give that impression. In fact I directed anyone who downloaded to his gallery to make sure proper attribution was given. He even admitted that I did credit him fully and showed appreciation for his work.
Then the creator went ballistic. He started harassing, spamming and attacking my build. He tried to give the community the impression I was doing something wrong.
I wasn't.
As per EA's TOS:
5. Your UGC
"You also grant to all other users who can access and use your UGC on an EA Service the right to use, copy, modify, display, perform, create derivative works from, and otherwise communicate and distribute your UGC on or through the relevant EA Service without further notice, attribution or compensation to you."

As you can clearly see I'm not even required to credit anyone, however, I do because I believe in fair play and am against passing off someone's work as your own. (The irony is that if had passed off the work as my own, without credit, I probably would not have been harassed because he likely wouldn't have seen it).
I eventually had to block him and I hope this solves the problem for me however, it doesn't prevent him from doing this to someone else.
Specifically, he wanted to control what I downloaded, what I uploaded, how I played the game, how I created my work and to prevent others from interacting with me or downloading my work.
I find this type of extreme controlling behaviour toxic to gameplay and obviously contrary to the conditions of gallery use. (Yes I did report it, but considering I have one follower and he has a lot more, you can guess how it was resolved).
So my question to the community is, is this typical content creator behaviour? And why is this harassment of other players (who are following/exceeding proper play guidelines) tolerated?
You did the right thing to report them.
For anyone else who may need to report another player or content creator, you can use the info at the following link to proceed:

Thanks.
