Why am I hearing an evil laugh randomly
Just to preface, I have two adults one daughter living in oasis springs. none have toxic traits and I have no expansion packs. out of no where I’ll hear a deep evil laugh that is a bit louder...

No, I haven’t seen Vlad at all. I’m new to sims but I’m pretty sure he’s only in the vampire pack correct me if I’m wrong.
if I am wrong, I haven’t seen him. I’ve played two households in the same game and both households do the same thing. It also happens when I’m travelling.

1. what DLC do you have?
2. does this happen without mods?
Also, can you attach a screenshot of the lot type and lot trait of the houses where this phenomenon occurs?
I'd like to know too what is the cause.

@Pick-a-boo_doo They’re all residential but I went to the park in oasis springs and it happens there. I put the traits for my home with the good lighting and one where the sims get the homey moodlet and the breezy trait too- @j1piter_f I'd file a bug report since it's happening while travelling too. That's definitely sounding like a bug. It can't be linked to a lot or a Sim in that case.
I'm going to various pages and sites and typing in "evil laugh" lol to see if I can find anything anywhere else. Except for the old Sims community thread from 2015 mentioning it I can't find anything, and that 2015 thread had no advice or solutions. There were some YouTube results but I didn't check them out as my mobile isn't playing with sound (so that's super not helpful).

Sorry for the late reply. And you wrote that there is nothing in the expansion pack. I had overlooked that.
I see that you can hear it not only in your home lot, but also where you go out. That is strange.
Have you tried it without the MODs? I don't use MODs so I don't know the details, but is there such a thing as a peeping sim appearing and following you around? But you don't see anyone nearby, do you? Very strange.

What kind of search words did you try to find in YouTube? Please let me know if you don't mind. If I can find something that looks like that, I would like to see.
@Pick-a-boo_doo i had no mods in the first few weeks of playing and the laugh happened then too- @Pick-a-boo_doo I did a general internet search with the term "Sims 4 evil laugh" and it showed a few video links in the search results but I didn't view them.

So the phenomenon started without mods? Didn't it generate LastException, does it?
I wonder if the sound is still somewhere in the background, as like the one in Live Mode where the background music keeps playing. That's about all I can think of at this stage.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any footage to reference; there was one on reddit, posted last month about Evil Laugh, but I think it was a little different because it said the whole house was covered in dust, along with laughter.
You don't mean that you hear laughter the whole time you are playing, but that you hear laughter at some point, right? Maybe there is some trigger.
There is a Malcolm Landgraab in Oasis Springs who has an Evil trait. Is it possible that he was nearby when you heard the laughter? (His laughter is a bit high toned.)
Also, are there any midi files mixed in with the Tray folder? If so, is it possible that it is a voice midi?
Here's what I can think of right now.
It doesn't feel good to hear that laughter while playing, does it...

I'll post again if I think of anything else.I was hearing a creepy laugh in my game recently too - high pitched rather than deep - and eventually discovered that my youngest Sim child is laughing in his sleep. I didn't know this was possible, and it's definitely a bit creepy... but is it possible one of your adult Sims is doing the same?
