Perhaps they could just make it so that Sims in Uni do get the holiday off (if it is a non-work holiday) but they would be given special holiday assignments they would need to complete on laptops, textbooks, etc? This way they could still somewhat celebrate the holiday but the day would still count as part of the 5-day term. For holidays that are not "non-work" holidays they would stay with their normal schedule.

Hey guys, a question. Are you saying that sims must go to class on all holidays when seasons are set to last 7 days?
I play a long life game with 28 day seasons and a term is 7 days. In that setup, you don't have to go to class on holidays just like careers when you're playing a regular household. The go to work button is still on the sims' career panel for the class that was scheduled but the game doesn't make you go like other days. I haven't tried to go either so I don't know what happens if you try. I have seen no impact on grades, etc. in my game though. I have no idea about the 14 day seasons since I haven't played anything but the 28 day ones.

@CGrant56, thank you for this information! 😇 I think that is a nice workaround for save games where we have Sims attending university! 🙌 I usually play with a 7 day season, so I will have to use the 28 day one (or maybe the 14 day one) for my students. 😉

Interesting! Well, yes, we're saying sims are forced to go to class on a 7 day season. From what you're saying it seems like the terms are dictated by the season length because I also play on long life, but my terms are only 5 days.

@Jes2G That may very well be true. But I don't know since I've always used the 28 day seasons. It just feels right to me somehow.
Anyway, holidays in the school year have caused some interesting effects depending on when they occur. I had one group that only had to go to a Tuesday class once and the term ended because the holiday was on Thursday, the last day of class for that term with a bunch of days left in the term since I had enrolled on Sunday. Caught me by surprise and I hadn't gotten all the term papers and presentations done. Really bad grades that term for those classes . A real learning experience on that one (pun intended). A lot depends on timing and when you start the term.
