Why can't I get the Desert Luxe Kit for free?

The game won't let me download the Desert Luxe kit, I can only buy it. Very unfair to players who have been playing Sims game for years and years.

I've spent so much money on this game and its disappointing that its not available

    @rosiw The promotion expired on October 17. The announcement was made on September 14, we had one month to download it for free, as of October 18 it is back to its original price.

    Hello,

    I am incredibly late to this party but I just found out that sims 4 players, who played the game prior to it becoming free, received a stuff pack as a gift. I bought the game at least a year before the change but never saw anything about receiving this gift. Is there any way for me to obtain it or has it been too long and I've missed out on a good thing?
