Will deleting rental residentials avoid the save corrupt bug?

I have For Rent. I heard there is a bug that came with that pack that is corrupting save files, and once you get it there is no way to fix it or salvage your save file. 

If I delete every single residential rental, will that help protect my game and avoid that corrupt save bug?

    Adding that there is no way I'm buying the newest pack, Businesses and Hobbies, because it also involves residential split lots. Will it just have the same bugs?
