Will deleting rental residentials avoid the save corrupt bug?

I have For Rent. I heard there is a bug that came with that pack that is corrupting save files, and once you get it there is no way to fix it or salvage your save file. 

If I delete every single residential rental, will that help protect my game and avoid that corrupt save bug?
