wired AI behavior with fireplaces

so i have been away from the sims for long time, hear it updated again so i figured i would play some more just to see what was up.

long story short i started up my old save and started playing, almost within a few in game days of playing i found some thing kind of odd.

my sims seemed almost obsessed with lighting a fireplace, but never do anything with it and it goes out as soon as they leave the room so they pathing goes like this.

wake up, light fire, use toilet and flush, light fire, wash hands, light fire, get ingredients out your fridge, light fire,  start cooking, light fire, get ingredients out your fridge, and then loops like this until i step in to stop them. but it picks back up when ever they are idol with no needs.

the thing that i find strange is that the fireplaces where almost ignored until now with this new update and that its never the fireplace that is closest its always the one on the 2nd floor in a office/ study room, i made because i didn't know what to put in it.

is anyone other then me finding odd AI behavior like this?

sorry if i posted this is the wrong forum.

  • I haven't had any issues with my fireplace going out, though when I do manually put it out my Sims are definitely obsessed with lighting it up again. I keep trying to have mine stay out because I've had several sims burst into flames because of it (including my sims' wife during their wedding event... ouch), but it's basically impossible to keep it put out unless everyone is asleep because someone always quickly comes along to light it again. I'm leaning towards taking my fireplace out because it doesn't seem worth it, and it's getting annoying.

i have not had anything go up in flames as of yet, i think there is something going on with the auto light upgrade,
i have tried debugging it and it seems to have slowed my sims obsessive behavior so they are getting things done, if it becomes a problem, removing it maybe the best option.
