Wisteria is just the roots

For some reason, when I was in build mode without sims in the house, the wisteria was all alive and beautiful, but as soon as I moved sims in to the house after hours spent decorating, all the wisteria has turned brown or just turned into roots. The house looks HORRIBLE. Is it because it's spring?

    It's because of seasons. Build mode is always in summer when accessed through map view.
