Sims who start writing a book if spoken to by any sim will stop writing; and they can't resume the book at all. I've tried resetting my sim; travelling, closing the game and reopening and the issue still occurs; no mods or cc in game.
what exactly happens when trying to resume ? Do you not have the option ?
Nothing; it completely cancels out the interaction; and you know how you used to get a "usb" thing in sims inventory for continuing to write their books; that isn't in my sims inventory at all; the item will show in queue and disappear after 1 second and then my sim can't continue writing her books. Phone calls also interrupt the writing process, so I had to silence my sims phone.
Resume writing books is on the computer. If you have an usb thing, than that's a mod thing.
Experiencing the exact same thing. It was like that for a long while, but found it should've been fixed in a patch. Fully updated this week and now it happens again. Same thing, it seems.
Could you describe in more details what you are seeing ? Do you not have the resume option or do they just not write ?

Having this issue as well. My sim can start a book but when they get close to finishing the book glitches out and cannot be resumed. I have repaired my game 3 times, cleared my localcache, went to manage worlds, bought a new PC/laptop, started a new book and tried going go back to finish the original and nothing. When I click on the PC to resume writing, it just makes a noise like the PC turned off and the sim cancels the action. No screen lights up or anything. Just a black screen. I have even had my sim sit first, then resume writing and does the same thing. I can start a new book just cannot finish the ones she has started and cannot scrap the ones that she is unable to resume. This is with both the freelance career and just writing books in general. I do not play with mods.
