Zoomers food delivery frozen

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? Not sure, but definitely up to date
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but Star Wars, Wedding and kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to order Zoomers food delivery
What happens when the bug occurs? The screen turns grey and freezes
What do you expect to see? The order menu pop up
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I’ve been having this issue for months and it’s super irritating because I have to force shut down my game and lose progress. I go to order Zoomers food delivery but instead of showing the menu to order, my screen just gets that dark overlay and is completely frozen. I don’t have this bug every time and one time I left it for a really long time and eventually the menu came up. I’ve repaired my game many times since this issue first appeared and I still get it without my mods/cc. Any ideas for what may be going wrong?

    Hey, so what I had to do was go back to my desktop Home Screen, left click on the application, click close window , go back into the sims 4 application. It’s going to ask you to save. This will keep your progress and restart your game!

    HI @AL40491 

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    This has been happening to me immediately after a failed delivery. Delivery person came, said no one was around so they left the delivery at the door, only they didn't leave the delivery, it just disappeared and the delivery person left. Then I went to reorder the groceries, and the dark overlay just stuck there. I even reloaded the game without saving, and it happened again. I'm on PS5. Can't reinstall the game or delete my userdata without losing login rewards, so that fix is out...
