I don't use University feature because my student was always kicked out of dorm and university when I play with another household.

I turned off Hair growth too.
If I had the faery pack I would turn off ailments. How could I forget weather? 😮I love a perpetually warm weather environment. So my simmies can wear their cute sundresses and other summer wear. I do turn it on occasionally though.

Wants and fears because it just gives fears all the time and the wants are very random.
It's ridiculous that Sims 2 did both those things so much better.
Likes and dislikes are meaningless too, no sense bothering with that because sims will still go out of their way to do what they hate.
Free will I keep going back and forth on, often I feel it might be better to turn off because sims keep obsessing over using the same few objects and it just makes me angry and want to kill them.

Hm. I rarely turn anything off. However, with the rain and snow falling inside, for quite some time, I did turn that off. It was just too distracting to leave it on. I just wrote about the terrible drought my Sims were experiencing, until it was fixed.
I also turned off Fears. I like the Wants, so my Sims accumulate those precious points that come in very handy. I just didn't want them hampered by those fears.
I did install a mod to give my Sims immunity, if you will, from ailments. I like the idea of the ailments, but my Rock Star was afflicted with the Emotional Void immediately after the EP dropped. And he was sick for way too long. The Naturopath claimed to have healed him, but in truth he was only healed for a few hours. By the time he returned from his concert, which he would never have gone to, to begin with, had he known he was still ill and potentially contagious; his face, chest and arms where the open sores had been, were now covered over with what looked like gray scabs, instead. It was pretty hideous and starling to view.
And I believe that is the grand scope of my opting out, of certain features, if you will.
Bar nights (Mccc)
Aging (not all the time tho)
Weather sometimes.
Hair growth
NAPs (I do have Kuttoes nap overhaul, but haven't tried it out yet)
Ailments will be off
Temperature effects on sims
Neighborhood Stories ( I do use Mccc storyprogression as I can tune that to my liking)
Cupids Corner is on, but only sims from my save.

I always turn off werewolves and fairies in other worlds so they only show up out of their respective worlds in their human form.

The big one is the Wants, because I don't like the way Fears were implemented.
I turn thunderstorms off sometimes, such as when my sims are going on vacation. I like the sound of rain and thunder but it bugs me that every sim is inherently afraid of them. BTW did you know that if you use the conversation options to declare their favorite weather to be rain they will stop being afraid of thunder?
