And that's a problem with any game. The Sims series has always been an open ended sandbox where you are free to do as you please. I've rarely played any challenges, and when someone tells me that if I'm bored it's because I need to play challenges to stop being bored, then the game has definitely reached its end with me. In TS1, TS2, and TS3, I rarely had that issue. It never got dead boring, I always had something new to do or try because, well, that's the point of open ended sandbox games. I never had to look at other people's challenges because I was bored with the game unless I had already exhausted the game or latest EP and wanted to use someone else's idea. A game that relies on other people's challenges to hold your interest is, well, that statement says it on its own.

@charlotteprice I really do recommend playing challenges as the very best way to make sure that the game holds your interest on a constant basis. I've always played all my Sims games (1,2,3,4) using challenges. As a matter of fact, I don't even understand how Sims games and any other open-ended type of games wouldn't get boring after a while of the same non-changing ongoing play. That's why I started creating challenges (to help other Simmers by keeping it fresh). For Sims 4 specifically, I plan on creating much more as time goes on.
.....So Stop Being Bored Of TS4 - Play Sims 4 Challenges!
If You Don't - How Can You Complain Of Boredom?
