Nowadays I rarely use it anymore.
Before Cats & Dogs EP was released I used to speed time a lot when I had a single Sim and he was doing time consuming tasks. Now I just spend time setting the camera to follow their pets. I don't even need to use the speed 3 anymore. Especially cats can be very entertaining when they're running around the neighborhood etc.
